Intro to Suggestions

Suggestions by Culture Booster is where ideas are democratized. With Suggestions, you can easily submit and vote on ideas that you believe will positively impact your organization. Here, we’ll cover how to submit an idea, vote on an idea, and comment on an idea.

How does Suggestions work?

Ideas are where innovation begins. Before suggestions, an idea’s reach typically extended to that person's direct supervisor. Then it dies. With Suggestions, your idea has a global reach, will be vetted by multiple stakeholders and will be implemented if it completes three stages successfully.  Here are the three stages:

Stage 1

• An idea is submitted.
• Once an idea is submitted, an email and in-app notification go out to the organization, alerting them that a new idea has been posted.
• Everyone in the organization can either upvote or downvote the idea.
• The idea must get a pre-determined number of votes in a pre-determined time to reach the next stage: Culture Committee.

💡 The number of votes and voting window time allocation are pre-determined by your organization.

Stage 2

• The Culture Committee members are alerted when an idea reaches the number of votes. Then they meet to discuss your idea. The Culture Committee will submit (in-app so that others tracking this idea are kept in the loop) any clarifying questions or requests for additional information to the idea submitter.
• After receiving all relevant information to make a decision, The Culture Committee will decide whether to advance the idea to the Vetoer or decline it, sending it to the Archive.

💡 If the idea is declined, the Culture Committee must explain why the idea was archived.

Stage 3

• If the Culture Committee advances an idea, an email notification is sent to the Vetoer.
• The Vetoer will decide whether to advance the idea to Implementation or decline it, sending it to the Archive.

💡 If the idea is declined, the Vetoer must explain why the idea was archived.

To get started

To get started with Suggestions, click the Suggestions icon on the left sidebar.

To submit an idea

1. Click the ‘Add’ button.
2. The ‘Add’ modal will appear. You’ll see all the components to make an idea:
3. Title
4. Description
5. Tags
6. Option for Anonymity
7. If you want to submit your idea anonymously, move the slider to the right.
8. Click the ‘Add’ button.

To vote on an idea

You can only vote once per idea. You can change your vote while the voting window is open.

1. Click the ‘up’ or ‘down’ arrow to vote.
2. To remove your vote, select the arrow again (The vote count will go down to confirm it was removed)

To comment on an idea

Each Suggestion has a description section. Yet, you may have a question, comment, or suggestion about how the idea was described.

1. In the ‘Actions’ section, click the View or Edit button.
2. Type your comment in the comment field
3. To comment anonymously, click the avatar icon. The avatar icon will turn blue to signal that you’re commenting anonymously.
4. Click the blue arrow to submit your comment.
